FIJI ISLANDS VISITORS BUREAU DEBUTS NEW INCENTIVE WEB SITE
The Fiji Visitors Bureau has uploaded a new web site for the conference and incentive market in Fiji. The new site features information on the destination and the respective products from the Conference and Incentive Advisory Group (CIAG), as well as other interesting information to encourage PCO’s and corporate clients to hold conference and incentives programs in Fiji.

NEW FIJI MATAI COORDINATOR – MS SERA CAWANIBUKA
Sera Cawanibuka has been appointed new regional coordinator for the Matai Specialists Program at the Fiji Islands Visitors Bureau, Americas office. In her new capacity, Sera’s responsibility will include the overall coordination of the Bureau’s FIJI MATAI program.

VISITOR ARRIVALS UPDATE
Fiji hosted a total of 7,513 North Americas in January, 2008 – an increase of 14.9% or an additional 975 visitors compared to last year’s corresponding 6,538 visitors. The US market contributed 5,518 visitors, an increase of 23% compared to last year’s 4,496 visitors. The Canadian market showed a marginal 2% decrease with 1,995 Canadians visiting Fiji in January this year compared to 2,042 last year. The Bureau has set a conservative target of 86,000 visitors from the North American market in calendar year 2008.

CANADIAN FIJI ME ROADSHOW SLATED FOR APRIL 14-27, 2008
The Fiji Islands Visitors Bureau will be joined by international airline partner Air Pacific, its key wholesalers and Fiji suppliers in a four-day roadshow covering Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver. The roadshow is part of the Bureau’s efforts to tap into the lucrative Canadian market in 2008.

NEW INCENTIVE BROCHURE AVAILABLE TO MEETING PLANNERS
The Fiji Visitors Bureau and the Conference and Incentive Advisory Group (CIAG) has recently unveiling 5,000 MICE brochures with 17 inserts for meeting planners. The new brochures have been distributed to FVB regional offices in New Zealand, Australia and the U.S. to promote Fiji as a conference and incentive destination. 2007 AON FIJI EXCELLENCE IN TOURISM AWARDS

FIJI DESTINATION CONSUMER DVD NOW AVAILABLE TO TRAVELERS
Fiji Islands Visitors Bureau, Americas has recently made available destination DVD on Fiji. The DVD is an excellent informational tool to educate visitors about Fiji and provides suggestions about accommodations, meals and activities.

2008 PRINT AND ONLINE CAMPAIGN FOR FIJI ISLANDS VISITORS BUREAU, AMERICA ADOPTS “FIJI ME” BRANDING
Fiji Islands Visitors Bureau, Americas and its travel partners in the North American market have commenced their cooperative efforts in 2008 with Fiji’s new destination positioning tagline “FIJI ME” throughout its print and online campaigns. The new branding is incorporated in the new revised Fijime.com web site as well as in its key Condé Nast print and online media commitments. ISLAND HOPPERS IN FIJI ADDS DAILY SERVICES
With an additional helicopter in its fleet, Island Hoppers will now offer daily services to the Outrigger on the Lagoon – Fiji and the Shangri-la’s Fijian Resort & Spa. Island Hoppers has also added a new helipad on Denarau Island. The helicopters fly from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and now offer a new range of products such as heli fishing, heli golf and heli rafting.

Blue Lagoon Cruises has marked its 58th year of operation with the launch of a new four-color brochure. ACCOR TO RE-BRAND RAFFLES TRADEWINDS HOTEL & CONFERENCE CENTRE
Hotel chain Accor will oversee the new management contract of Raffles Tradewinds Hotel and Conference Centre in Lami Bay. The takeover is planned for late March, 2008. Accor will retain all its all works of the Raffles Tradwinds after the deal has been finalized. The hotel will be re-branded as the Novotel Capital Suva Hotel and Convention Centre.
 

THE WESTIN DENARAU HONORED WITH ACCOLADE
The Heavenly Spa by Westin at The Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa in Fiji has been recently honored by winning the “General Tourism Services” award at the 2007 Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards presented on Denarau Island last month.
